I did my 1 ton conversion on my k5 a year ago..
I have stock d60 brakes up front...rear disks with d44 calipers. All rotors were replaced.

I haven't had any issues with my brakes...I have a real sensitive brake pedal and the truck stops on a dime. Even on steep inclines.

My question is....will after and brake parts wear...will I have brake issues??....especially after adding weight...cage/tools/bumpers about 400 lbs.

Also I'm going with hydraulic steering assist. I've heard some horror stories about having hydro-boost and hydro-asist hooked up to the same pump, so I need some input.

Thanks for you help

the brakes should hold up just fine as long as your rotors don't warp too bad and as long as you don't let the pads get too worn.
The steering will suffer from the hydro boost brakes. If you want to go that way then i would suggest staying with the 1.5" bore ram.

Cool....

I wasn't planning on changing my master....but I do have the hydro-boost set-up sitting on my shelf....just in case.

I was planning on sending you the gearbox and pump....
to rebuild and set-up for ram assist.... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'll give you a call later today.

THanks

My 1/2 ton master did not fit the hydroboost booster assembly...

I wasn't looking at bolting the 1/2 ton master to the hydro-boost....rite now I have a stock vacuum booster...and my brakes work SWEET...But since I have the complete hydro-boost set-up with the master brake cylinder, I was wondering if I should use it or not...or if there are any tricks to get the hydro-boost and the ram assist to work well together without any steering or braking problems.

Congrats on 10,000 /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I wasn't clear on that part...so I thought I'd pass along the fact it doesn't fit (which was a surprise to me/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)
