Has anyone used a hydroboost setup from a mid 90's truck on a mid 80's truck. I am swapping my 87 k5 from the stock 350 to a 6.5 from a 97 and have the whole truck for parts.

It should work just fine. The plate that mounts the hydroboost unit to the firewall is different, but the unit itself is the same. The plate may work for you but you'll have to check. The 90's trucks firewall is flat there and yours probably is not. (going from memory in my research swapping hydroboost to my 1st gen).
Swap the master with the booster, or get a new master that matches the 90's truck. At some point the newer trucks went with a different bore for the master-booster junction.
And yeah, the 90's trucks have a square backing plate versus the square bodies haev a rectangular one, which you'd need to make it work.
