I have read that when doing the manual tranny swap, there are some dimples that need to be drilled out for the master cylinder, where are these dimples? Could someone post a pic of where to mount the cylinder?

Don't know anything about no dimples. My C10 has hydro clutch from factory, I can snap a pic in the am if someone doesn't beat me to it. Its snowing/sleeting outside right now, no way I'm going out there now just for you!

The pedals somewhat give you an idea where they need to be, if this is for your '87, IIRC they are already on the firewall, just not drilled out.

If you've got the black plastic shielding on the engine side of the firewall, you may have to remove it to see.

Off the right side (towards the fender) of the wiper motor is a bracket the MC bolts to. It sounds like the holes just aren't drilled if the truck didn't come with a manual.

That is correct. The studs the MC bolt to are part of the pedal assembly, which aren't present on the auto trans trucks.

All I remember having to take some time doing was locating the hole in the firewall for the MC, which was pretty easy once the holes were drilled for the studs to pass through.

in my 89 the dimples were at the right top edge of the fuse box you may have to pull down the carpet a bit to see them.

if your truck is pre hydro clutch they will not be there only 85 up I think.

on my 1982 cab I have a plastic inner well on the firewall..... it had a O where I had to drill out for the master cylinder..... the resivour had its own bracket that went to the wiper motor
