hydro ram mounting

got a hydro ram, just need to decide where to mount it with my high steer setup.

1. weld to cast housing???
2. make up some 1/2" spring plates with an extension on the drivers side to mount the ram to the plate....but would it move?
3. weld to diff cover (stock) 1/8" thick
4. get a rock ring or diff cover 1/4" and weld to that

what do you guys think?

any other suggestions or ideas would be appreciated pics would help

And no the plate doesnt move,bend u bolts,or kill the center pin like some will say And I stole the idea from Greg72

I would get a double arm for the driver side knuckle and mount the ram to that, on top and behind the axle. You would have to weld a mount to the top of the axle housing.

Doing this utilizes the rams power because it is not mounted to the tie rod.
The steering box would be turning the passenger knuckle and the ram would turn driver side knuckle.

Do not mount anything to the stock cover.

yeah, i was leaning mostly towards the spring plate idea, i have a welder and a plasma that will cut 2" so i can cut that half inch real nice.....

this is a good idea, but i already have nice ORD arms and would rather not spend any more $$. thanks for the replies though

why not just to the stock cover? u think it will get crunched like a soda can ? he he
