Hydroboost brake pedal

Oh **** I didn't know there was a difference between hydro and vacuum, that's actually a thing though?

I just learned about it. Hydro pedal has less mechanical advantage; more push rod movement per pedal movement. Presumably this helps account for the amount of fluid pushed by 1-ton brakes and is counteracted by extra boost from the hydro system.

I actually just saw the hydroboost install thread that covers that after I posted, definitely good to know. Seems I could take the pedal from my auto bracket and put it on a standard, non hydro bracket when I do my transmission swap, the pivot point shouldn't have changed I wouldn't think

There is a difference between auto and manual on the pedal size. Auto's have the extra large brake pedal plate to step on.

There is a difference between Hydro and Vacuum in the pin location for the push rod to attach to. Search under sweetk30's username and you will find pics posted of brake pedals with both positions on one pedal from 86 and later trucks.

Thanks for the heads up, I had forgotten about pedal size. I'm gonna get outta here before I hijack the thread any more though.
