Hydroboost Gurus

Wondering if I can use a hydroboost setup off of a '03 HD 2500 on my '72 Blazer? Plan on upgrading the rear 70 to discs and want the full potential of four wheel discs. Thanks.

Well, the 'setup' would be the steering pump, steering box, hoses, and booster and master cylinder?

Pump might or might not fit the older engines; the box is not likely to fit your frame, and I've no idea about the booster. Doubt it somehow :)

Presuming you can use gen-2 stuff, I'd steal parts from a gen-2 truck with hydroboost.

I know that on our trucks the lever length for the brake pedal is different, so you'll prolly hafta do some fab work on yours ... the hoses depend on the fitting style on the box and pump (older: compression and newer: O-ring)

Oh, are the steering boxes interchangeable with gen-2? Otherwise you gotta use the old-style fittings or get custom hoses built.

In short, I don't think you're gona find a bolt-on ... cool idea, but you might just get a four-wheel disc master cylinder for your vacuum booster first.

Yea I know one the guys used a hydroboost set up off a '70 c20/30. I think I just may end up doing that. I had a feeling it wouldn't work. Wouldn't use the steering box, planning on going full hydro. But thanks for the info. I'll look into something else.
