I have a 1984 Fullsize Jimmy with hydroboost brakes.
I am replacing my power steering box(4wd) with a 2wd box for a crossover steering setup. The reman. steering box requires one or more "Tee" connections to tie in the hydroboost lines to the steering box. Can anyone tell me how this is done or post a pic of how the hoses should be routed and where the (Tee's) need to be located. Thanks for any help

One tee.

You want to route the lines so that they both flow into the one return line in the reservoir ... oh, heck, two thousand words:

Make sense?

I'm a little confused. The steering boxes are identical regardless of whether it is a hydroboost truck or not, and the lines are the same setup between 2wd and 4wd versions. So unless I'm missing something you should not have to change the lines in any way when doing a steering box swap.

The pumps are slightly different though, but basically only because hydroboost pumps have two return line inlets.

Err. I read the OP as "I am converting to hydroboost", but that's not what he said, is it? :doah:

Yeah, 2WD or 4WD, all the boxes I've ever seen have one inlet, one outlet.

Unless you're talking about hydraulically assisted steering, but that's entirely different.

I guess I was wrong about the lines to the steering box. I haven't worked on it since Novemer 08 and thought I had noticed two extra lines running to the steering box but it must have been the pump. Thanks for the info.
