I have altered a hydroboost unit from a 93' 1ton truck to work with my factory pedal assembly. My only problem is which line goes where on my 70 steering box and where do I need to route the return line to. I've been through a million manuals and dealerships with no luck. I've heard a rumor that the power steering pump is different too? Any help would be great, THANKS!

You will like the hydroboost. You will find hose routing info in the "Power Steering" section of the manuals, not in "Brakes", if you are looking at a shop manual. If you can't come up with a diagram that way, let me know and maybe I can send you a scanned image. You have 4 hoses, if you run a cooler (a must):

1- Return (from cooler) to pump
2- Feed from Steering Gear from Brake Booster (left rear on booster)
3- Return to Pump from Brake Booster (forward-most on booster)
4- Feed from Pump to Brake Booster (this implies 2 outlets on pump, your 70 has 1)

You will also have a line from the PS gearbox to the cooler.

The pump should be capable of 1350-1500psi output pressure, and should have 2 low pressure oulets. I don't know about the pump rating on the 70. If you decide to get the 93 pump (I would), get the brackets, too. Earlier 1 ton stuff will work, as well.
Any other questions, please advise.

I got the hydro unit from a buddy that owns a salvage yard for $50 with the master cylinder and all. The problem I ran in to was the motor had been pulled in a quick manner. All the lines where cut/bent up and moved aside instead off undoing them. The pump left with the motor. I quess it's time to go to another yard to find a pump. Thanks for the help. I'll post again when I get done.

I am planning to install hydroboost in my 71 GMC, but looking at the way the stock vacuum booster mounts on the firewall, I am not sure about how to actuate the booster. The body is off so I can't easily mock it up at the moment. Can you explain how you mounted it to the firewall, and any modifications you had to make to pedal assembly, firewall, mounting bracket etc? Pics?
Thanks in advance.
