So I am putting hydroboost setup in my 70 Chevy which had a vacuum boost and master cylinder from a 78 Chevy 4x4. So I put the hydrboost booster on and threw on the master cylinder that was on it (78 Chevy 4x4) and the brakes felt fine.

I have been reading that the master cylinder on the Hydroboost has a larger bore size then the vacuum booster one.

What is the effect of having a larger bore size? Will using a vacuum boost master cylinder cause problems or will I just have a reduction in braking power?

Thanks in advance.

So doing further research from here http://www.vancopbs.com/category_s/76.htm

It looks like the smaller bore will be easier to push but have a longer pedal stroke, where as the bigger bore will be harder to push and have a shorter stroke.

So I guess the question is will having a longer stroke damage my hydroboost unit?
