Just a quick question- if I want to retrofit hydroboost into my truck,

all I need are the lines, correct? (and the hydroboost unit).

You need the booster, master cylinder and the 3 lines. Probally be a good idea to get a hydroboost pump as well, though it is acceptable to use a regular power steering pump. Just make sure that the booster has the most direct line to the return nipple on the pump (aka, get a y pipe where one nipple is a straight through, and the other enters at a 45ish degree angle and put the booster on the straight through nipple)

possible brake pedel swap. i have seen hydroboosts use a higher hole location. but check yours first as i had a pedel with 2 holes. so i added the second pin.

I would recommend getting the pedal. Using the vacuum one could give you the wrong travel -- either not enough, or too much, which could be unhealthy for the booster unit. The ones I've seen had the pin higher than the vacuum ones I've seen; it is possible there are some that can do both.

In a pinch you could redrill and weld higher up, but if you can get the donor pedal, it's a lot easier ;)

Also, the master cylinder is different from hydro to vacuum, and while they physically interchange my experience has been that bad things happen if you mix and match. (I killed two hydroboost masters on a vacuum booster! ... thankfully my parts house is good about warrantying them out  )

Ahh, I think I get it. I have my old core which I never returned to autozone when I replaced my other one. Turned out it was just a seal, but now I have a spare. I dont mind changing the MC at all. The PS pump I had previously changed was already from the HD model, so I think I might be ok. What are the three lines? I guess its Pump->hydroboost, then hydroboost to gear box, then gearbox to pump again?
