Most just quit shifting.... Mine twisted the main shaft in two, took the 90% of the teeth off of the planetarys, and broke the planetary cage lol. He builds trannys for the local drag strip and hasn't even seen a 700 come in like that. That's what happens when you treat a land barge like a drag car I guess.

And the idea of a stupidduty with a 7.3 was thought of. Be a much simpler deal. But I read so much bad crap that I got skeered and went Chevy.
That was my original goal when I started looking for a truck this last time. I didn't have time to fix anything and all the high miles in my price range bothered me.

They are pretty much as good as boobys when in good shape though .:thumb:
One of my favorite body styles of ford too

And let the record show I was done trolling in the thread.... I got shady and crayon eater....

This would make a nice start..... Think it has a 4500 trans if I remember right.

I can get 2500 out of my burb in a day or 2 if I want, but I really don't want to go that low. Sucks the bank wouldn't give him 3500. Good friend of mine who just started building his credit.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.... Already SAS'd, has a Cummins, and a 6" change in wheelbase will put it just right for a CCSB square body :)

I'm debating taking the 2500 from my buddy for the burb and getting that... I'd rather have a 4l80e, but I can always do that later. Cummins wasn't my first choice but I think it'd be just fine lol.

My only worry is PO cobble job BS.

Yep been there. I'll never buy a rig like that again. It was just a plow truck that I bought so I didn't care as long as it worked. And Technically it did, but what a pile.

Personally I wouldn't buy that rig.

You think you can look them over, but you always find stuff once you get home it seems.

Edit: plus Greg thought it was cool. so that's enough right there.
