1/2 ton status
I've been doing a lot of research getting ready to tap my steering box for hydro assist. I am going with a 2in bore ram either 6" or 8" (going to measure tonight, but probably 6"). The rams ports are 3/8" NPT. I am wondering if there is a reason everyone seems to use 1/4" on the steering box and not 3/8". Wouldn't you get better performance by keeping with the ram's port size? Quicker response, or can the steering pump not keep up?
