I am in a jam, any ideas

Just got back home from this ordeal. I am supposed to get up for work in about 2.5 hrs and I am exhaused!! I will post the details in the morning. The truck is back at my house though. Talk about a long day!

glad to hear that both you and your truck made it home ok /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I was with Kevin when this happened, and judging from the hole punched in his rear diff, I'm thinking that the ring gear is toasted, and I'm not sure he would have been able to throw in a new c-clip and run. It was UGLY! I think he had a gov-lock lesson. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Yeah, what a freaking ordeal!!! We left the pavement on Kenosha Pass at 1130 Mon AM and got back out to it at 815 PM. Since I left me house at 415 in the morning to get some work done prior to going with Kevin and not getting home til 1245 Tues AM, I'd have to say I'm wiped out.

And yeah, where's those pictures Kevin?

BTW, he broke just under 6 miles in. Took 2 1/2 hours to get him down the first 300 yards of rocks. Wheel/shaft kept coming out. Then, took another coupl hours with Interceptor riding on the 2x4 tied to the wheel thingy. Worked so-so. Then, after we'd moved about a mile in 4 1/2 hours we went out ant towed in Interceptors 20-some foot trailer with my stock K5. Had to turn it around in the hills and back the last 3 tenths of a mile through the trees and such. Finally got it loaded. Long trip out in 4lo with my ol 6.2. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

I had to drive home with my window open to keep from falling asleep. Man, what a day!!

sounds like a fun trip /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
like someone else posted the log against the tire is the easiest trail fix to get it out of there but he forgot to tell you to make sure the log can roll with the tire then it wont bind up.

I just wanted to thank all the responses. It was quite an ordeal getting the truck out. I especially want to thank all the Colorado local guys that made such generous offers to help me. Burblover,INTERCEPTER and his wife were there with me for the recovery and I never would have been able to get it out without them. Figherfighter184 and his wife went out of their way to give my wife and I a ride 2hrs to our home the day it happened. B to C and JAC6695 also made extremely generous offers of assistance. I have never seen this level of unselfishness. They are definately valuable members of our CK5 community. I am not discounting all the responses I received from other areas, I am sure you would have been just as quick to help. Again, thank you all! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

P.S. Pictures are on the way as soon as I set up Webshots!

I would have pulled the axleshaft and wheel then tied the log onto the axle like a skid then drug it out... But glad it came out of the woods intact /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
