is the ingersol rand a duel stage compressor? if so thats what I would buy. my bud has a 80 gal verticle ingersol duel stage 7.5 hp that hits 175 psi on the gage, thats some pressure right there. ofcourse its regulated down for air tools, but it runs his grit blaster great too.

The second Porter Cable and the first NorthStar have the the highest CFMs at pressure.

Porter-Cable CPLMC7580V2C
25 SCFM @ 100 psi, 23.5 SCFM @ 175 psi

NorthStar 7.5 HP
26.2CFM @ 90PSI(continuous) 29.5CFM @ 90PSI (tank assisted)

The search is over....

Well, I pulled the trigger on one. I just ordered the Porter-Cable CPLMC7580V2C off Amazon.com. I got it for $1125 shipped, which I think is a great deal. This thing weighs almost 500 lbs. Amazon offered free shipping and that saved $300. Now I need to add the 220v outlet to the garage. The sub panel already has the breaker wired, just not the outlet.

WHOA, that's a sweetheart deal there!

If you find (or suspect) that the compressor was on it's side during shipping, and the oil reservoir was pre-filled, let it stand vertical without powering it up for a few days to let the oil drain out of the cylinders. Then turn the pump through a few revolutions by hand before actually starting it the first time. These will hydraulic-lock just like a car or truck engine...

I'm looking for a two stage myself...When I go to that model on Amazon it's free shipping but the price is $1499.00???...How do I get it delivered for $1125.00?

Does someone else make compressors for porter cable?

There is a 10% off code MAYPOWER good till May 22nd. The other part is I bought $1125 in Amazon Gift Cards for $900. That comes out to $375 off plus free shipping. I looked today and it seems the free ship offer is gone too.
