OK finally got the truck back on the road...and drive it for a couple of weeks . Well today I push it and run out of gas ( late to work ). I hike to the gas station get gas and fill my empty tank up with 2 gallons of gas....Well to compound the problem My engine was knocking like all hell and that is in my head. Well the truck wouldn't start. Just kept rolling over and over...A fellow blazer owner stops and wants to ask me a couple of questions about my 3/4 ton axles and offers to tow me to the gas station. So we go to the gas station and fill up about 8 gallons. Still no start and then my starter sticks and won't stop even with my keys out of the ignition! we finally unhook the neg battery terminal and he tows me to my work where we chat about blazers for a couple of minutes.....Thanks D !

I gave him the website so I am sure we will have another member soon!

Anyway any takes on my situation?

Like tRusty said, and maybe fuel pump relay or sending unit.

disconnect the fuel return line up in the engine. turn the key and see if any squirts out. then you'll know if you're getting gas there. usually when you "wait" till your gas runs out, the crud on the bottom will be picked up and sent out the fuel line. if your filter is good the injectors won't pick it up.

as for the starter, you probably fried the solenoid(part on top of the starter), tap it a few times with something and connect the batt, if the engine cranks still, time for a new starter solenoid. taping the solenoid it usually disengages it.

ARQ.

If you have a TBI, i will bet this weeks allowance from the GF that it is the fuel pump. I had a little s-10 years ago, and i burned the fuel pump in about 5 minutes. Warrenty was still good on it, but the guy i talked to said it was a common occurance.

Changin that fuel pump out is no walk in the park either....I am going to do what arq said and see if I am getting fuel to the engine...

I just changed out my fuel pump about a month ago. A real PITA with my huge 37 gal tank. Be prepared for some fun if it has never been changed on your Blazer. The factory seals the sending unit with this black stuff that does not come off very easy. Also, if you do change it out change the screen (about $5) and fuel filter.

just for shits and giggles check your spark too. I went crazy replacing a fuel pump (old style) and ended up changing out the module on my distributor

It was weird...Now that I think about it..it fired up right off the bat then shut off almost immediately. Then rolled over and over....

Hey blue... try banging on the fuel tank with a hammer while someone cranks it. A lot of times that is enough to get the pump kicking if that is the case. If it works I would try starting it a bunch of times and see if the no start condition returns, if it does replace the pump. If not... let it buck till the problme returns. good luck

i've gone through several fuel pumps an' it sucks. can you use an aftermarket pump on the outside? by pass the pump inside? it makes it easy to repair on the trail also. i have a pair of 'em mounted side by side an use a fuel pressures gage in the engine to tell when the pump goes south, which seems to happen often. on the starter, hope aboot picking one up at the kragen's, pep boys, etc. down the street, install it an use yours as a spare once it's fixed?
