I have had my 77 k5 for a year now I have put a 4 inch lift under it and I am running 35's. I bought the 76 k20 with intentions of pulling the drivetrain out to put it all under my k5. But the longer the truck sits in my yard it just about makes me want to drive it. I am thinking of buying another set of 3/4 ton axles and just using the truck. The truck has rust but, it runs and drives so good. It just dont have the looks. Here is a picture of it. Let me know what I should do.

find the largest tires off craigslist that are on 8 lug wheels you can afford. :hack: until they fit. up to and including 38s should work

weld the rear spiders or buy a mini spool
lock rite the front diff
check the fluids
go wheelin

I like that idea but I just dont know yet. Still got some more thinking to do. The truck may be rusty but hell it barely broke in. Only 123000 miles on it.

i dont consider the mileage as a factor when the rust is that far along. maybe it will just be more reliable for the trails then.

Bring it to my house and sign over the title

Believe it or not the truck came with a title. This is the oldest truck I have ever bought that has came with a title. Most the time I end up with a bill of sale. The truck originally spent most of its life with a snow plow on front and a salt spreader on the back

Oldest thing I bought with a title is my 73 parts truck It is donating its front sheep metal to my 82 k5. the 73 looks gorgeous from 20 feet but it is completely made of bondo.

That's how my 77 K5 is. Looks good from a distance but you get close to it you can see the waves in it .

I just want a 4wd chassis. I have a perfect cab and enough sheetmetal to build 4 front ends. I would be better served by a 4wd than a 2wd because i wind up working out in the woods and old farms that are great places to sink a truck.

The cab as far as rust is not that bad. The only bad spot on it is on the passenger side cab corner. I have thought about putting the cab on my k5 frame and making a truggy. I dont know. It takes me for ever to make decisions.
