Why not go out and start wrenchin on it, yank the tranny out and have your mom take you down to the tranny place to have it rebuilt?

That sucks!!! Tomorrow, my hubby is going to have to use my blazer and I'm hardly going to be able to stand that so I can't imagine how you feel. I'd be surprised if your mom will haul the tranny down if she won't even let you share, but ya never know! I know that most of the labor charge on tranny rebuilds is taking it out and re-installing it, not the "rebuilding" part of it.

No kidding! Yank the tranny and load it in your mom's Jeep. Then she'll have to take you to get it fixed to get it out of her car! I'd go ahead and do some work on it while it is sitting, too. Since it isn't going anywhere, go ahead and do the stuff you want to that requires letting it sit.

flowers man. Get your mom some flowers, and remember to say please. It also helps to call her mommy. I swear.

<font color=blue>Get some freinds to help you take it out, then get someone to take it down to the shop for you. You will save a lot of money taking it out and putting it in yourself.

biggray71 has the right idea there. I helped a friend pull the tranny on his Bronco and he saved a bunch of money doing it. We just loaded up the tranny and took it down to the shop and then picked it up after it was done.

Hey Bandit, I feel your pain..I've got a decent sized dent in the middle of my dash from when my t-case locked up. I SWAPPED OUT THE CASE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IT TOOK OUT THE TRANNY WHEN IT FROZE UP!!! All this after wrenching all day and having a giant 4-wheeling run that night!!! I actually dented the metal under the dash front!

Turn around time varies on shop load, availabilty of parts, and work of tech. They have a book that list the total labor time. I wold give them a call and make a tenative appointment. Definitley touch base with someone, owner especially, and get a ball park figure with it in and out of your truck.

You can expect to pay any where between 1200 and 1500 in the truck to have it rebuilt. Make sure you replace the torque converter and power flush the system or it will crap out on you again (if you are pulling yourself). I believe that labor is approx. $750 so you would save a grip by flushing the system and doing R&I youself.
