So, I now have a new toy. 1974 K5 with the 350 and auto. I will get some pics up there soon. It is white, with no dents, some rust up above the windshield and very clean. Downside, does not have the NP205 (NP203) , and the steering is sloppy. We picked it up yesterday in Torrence and drive it down to Costa Mesa on the freeway...stop and go traffic in 105 degree weather with no overheating issues. Took the top off and damn, had no idea it was that heavy! Almost killed myself. Spare tire mount on the back, but it is bolted to the body and the tire is too big for it. That will be fixed when I do my own bumpers though. It has balding 33"s and a lift...not sure how big but don't really care. It will last me through summer with hopefully no issues then I can start installing the new go-fast parts...yeah!

Oh yeah, it was less then I had planned on spending and then I talked him down an extra $800...paid $4K. I can deal with that :D

darn you full convert guys *shakes fist of fury* but congrats non-the-less. welcome to the legions of those who are always broke because "the truck needs something" :D

DUDE! Congrats!! NICE score indeed. Where abouts in Torrance were you where it sold? I'm in Torrance every day, grew up there infact. What are your plans with it? It looks like my 73' did when I first got it. Not so much anymore. Here is a pic of mine when I first got it. You going hard core crawler or decent trail rig, or just a friendly daily driver and mild wheeler? Oh and welcome Brother to the site. Any Q's you have just ask. Gee, I'm feeling friedly tonight :D.

Hey AJM, I started a new thread that has the pictures on it... check it out. As to your questions rdn2...it will be a sweet weekend driver around town that will get me, my girlfriend and dog plus gear to the desert and back without breaking. I have already purchased a lot of parts for it as I was starting the process of building a crew cab trophy truck. I have the rear 14 bolt from a 2007 2500HD (big ring gear and discs), D60 for the front that I bought off my friend (he spent over $5K on it), and an almost put together 496BB with the fuel injection off a ramjet 502 (should be over 600 hp and lb-ft). Going to link the front and rear with King coilovers and bumpstops...and eventually bypass shocks (but that is down the road a bit). For the summer it is going to stay just like it is though...unless I break it. I found a place that does custom fiberglass or carbon fiber work and can build sweet dashboards and center consoles for a reasonable amount. But I have to wait untill I yank the cage that is in it now and build my own, and bumpers too.

Oh, I will have a 14 bolt from a 1986 crew cab diesel I need to get rid of in the next couple of weeks...anyone interested?

Hey mnstrburbon...the axle came off of a dually. Its out in Riverside, I just need to take the time to drive out there, unbolt everything and bring it back to Anaheim.
