Well thanks to the help from you guys, I bought a 1990 scottsdale diesel K5 last night. Will get pics up soon, its filthy maybe a before and after lol. Motor runs great, just a little rust at the seatmounting bolts on the driverside, no where else. Has two new batteries, new radiator, new alternator. I need to do seals on the windows, and rebuild the power rear window (I broke it on the way home lol). Couple gauges need replacing or have a short. The owner did some cheesy wiring that i'll be replacing, but for the money ($1400) I don't think I could go wrong. And the A/C blows cold. So welcome me into to the diesel brethren and let the games begin...Dave

power rear window troubles...to get the window up or down just remove the rear sheet metal panel and look for what appears to be a speedo cable. Unscrew it from the electric motor and chuck a cordless drill onto the square cable end. I can't remember which direction you need to go for up or down though...but it isn't hard to figure out. probably best to use one of the soft clutch settings most cordless drills have. That way if it's already all the way up the clutch will slip without damaging anything else.

X2 on ditching the running boards. K5's look so much better without em, and they do tend to cause rust issues.
