This crew cab project has been complicated by simple things I have to figure out. I get lost and confuzed on a daily basis, it sucks. Probably wouldnt be so bad if I had someone to help me that knew what the hell im doing lol.

As of right now Im trying to locate the front axle, and figure out what the fook I did with the other shackle hanger.:dunno::doah:

I think I have to buy higher lift front springs.....6.2's are HEAVY.

Yeah I wish I had some help... I don't have a single buddy around here that likes to work on trucks...

Just don't try to rush things, take time to organize stuff and don't get frustrated over the small things, take care of them as they show up.:wink1:

7 or 8 months for an axle swap is perfectly acceptable right?:D

what front springs are you using? I'd use HD front springs, those 6.2s are atleast 900 complete, I think a small block might be 500-600.

The front springs are rancho soft rides, never even occured to me the weight of the 6.2. I guess I was just exited about building this rolling turd. Sometimes I think "man I should just buy a jeep rubicon" BUT whats the fun in that right.

Smartass, I dont even know what to say about a 7 or 8 month axle swap. I almost got a 2wd converted to 4wd in under 2 months.

I was suppose to do a 2wd to 4wd swap a couple of years, I ended up having too much fun wheeling the donor k20 and then had to sell it. Then I traded parts for a 84 K20 bare frame to to put with my complete body and ended having to trade it back for rearend parts for my DD. I never picked up the frame even.
Now I have a complete 84 c20 body in my old man's shop. Good thing he still likes me cause now he has that and, my suburban and my k10 at his shop and I'm 3 states away

absolutely...if you have a broken arm and severe vertigo. :haha:

actually, it took me nearly 3 months to put my engine in. the actual install took almost no time, but i did a lot of prep work to improve and pretty up things...then covered it all in mud as soon as i got past the break-in period. :doah:

ya know that happens alot for me too :haha::haha:

Well I spent most of that time ordering parts and such... and now I'm waiting for that old guy to finish my gears, although he could be focking them up.:doah::haha:

I would be willing to come out there, except I don't know how much help I could be. Especially since YOU don't know what the heck you're doing, so how would I know.

Seriously though, just take your time and it will all come together. Even a simple engine swap can be a real pain when doing it by yourself. Doing a trans and engine from a Beretta to a Lumina only took me four weeks by myself. If I had help, I could have done it in a week.

i took out the 350 and put in a 454 on the same day i had my wisdom teeth pulled. You bunch of damn babies. get off your lazy arse and go do some work!

lmao

i did an axle swap in roughly 2 weeks prep and about 4 days over spring break. that damn conversion ujoint threw me for a loop.:doah:

My buddy and I had motor swaps in his '72 Power Wagon down to about two hours. He went through 5 of them in 9 months. The good one came from a motor home that burned to the ground.

:haha::haha:Ok let me clairify a little, I DO know how to do it, I just keep changing my mind on WHAT to do. I got a few irons in the fire on some parts trucks(a 93 6.5 turbo, NV4500 and/or a 86 CUCV rollover new engine new trans). I could build it in a simple maner with stuff I already have, and gather the cool toys later and redo a bunch of stuff. But I keep telling myself it will be half the work to do it the way I want it from the start.

So I start doing something then think "but if I get those other parts, Ill have to do it differntly". Its scrambling my brain, and it seams im not getting much done. Also waiting on some ordered parts from Kert and ORD, but Im not complaining about those.

I think the same way. I always keep thinking bigger and better. You just have to cut it off at some point and realize you just want the damn thing done so you can use it.
