when i took all the interior parts and front end trim from my k30 and put them out for the garbage man, is it wrong to feel this way about trashing chebby truck parts???

:deal:nope. You know someone out there is hunting for those parts, so it is ok to mourn the loss. Go have a beer

Were the parts trashed? If not you should have put them on e-bay. I got about $20 for the chrome trim pieces around the taillights.

i put them up on here, and that is the extent of my buying and selling online..

hell

yeah.. i feel bad throwing out any chevy part.. good or bad haha its bad!

hell the chrome trim below the grille was almost perfect... se la vi...

I felt the same way today when I put on my UD2 front and rear bumpers and racing seats in and threw away my stock bumpers and custom bench seat. Dont have the time to sell them or try to find a place to put them. I also threw away my headliner and several of the plastic interior parts. I am sure someone could have used them but I move in 2 days and have no time.

i strip so many trucks, i'd need more than 24 hours in a day to keep up with everything else, and sell all the parts that get thrown away. if i see something REALLY nice, or rare, i'll snag it. got another radio delete plate coming from a '77 C10 that my buddy is driving. maybe i should trade him a knob style radio for it.

Yeah,it hurts!.

I hate tosing useable stuff out--but my garage holds only so much, and if I have no use for it,I either sell it or give it to someone who does--usually if I can bring myself to throw away a part, someone comes around looking for them a day after they were tossed!..

If you think it hurts tossing good parts out--wait till your truck is rotted away, and you see it roll off a ramp truck, and crushed by a forkloader, after owning it for 16 years!...its like killing your best friend...:(

I have thrown stuff like that away. No regrets. The problem with most of it is that whoever could use it is so far away that its either too expensive to ship or too cheap a part to justify your time trying.

I have a big problem with throwing stuff away. Ive got a section of the yard full of junk that my mom doesnt like but I cant get rid of it. Most of it is old brackets that might come in usefull. one set of brackets Ive got came off of the rear shackle hanger when I did my shackle flip. dont really need them but the might be usefull for something like upper shock mounts. Ive also got an old set of rusted doors with no insides or panels that I keep with the hope of making them half doors and using removable pins so I can put full doors back on for the winter months. Just cant seem to get rid of stuff like that.
