Here's the new toy.
89 GMC Suburban 4x4 SLE with the 88-91 Chevy grill. It's a 1500, but all the axles and suspension were swapped just over a year ago.

Engine/Trans: Rebuild 350 TBI and rebuild 700R-4 with trans cooler..

Front Axle: D44 8 lug with high steer flat top knuckles and crossover steering. 4.88 gears.

Rear Axle: Corporate 14b full floater limited slip with 4.88s.

Tires: Super Swamper TSLs 39.5" x 15.5" x 16.5"

Front Lift: 10" Superlift front springs with dual Rancho shocks.

Rear Lift: 8" Superlift rear springs, single Rancho shocks, 2" lift blocks.

2" body lift

13" rotors up front and stainless lines all around. Rear drums are off a military truck.

The interior is in immaculate shape, the windows aren't real fast, but there's really nothing to complain about with this Sub.

Some day way down the road I want to swap in a Cummins or Duramax with a 5 or 6 speed manual. But for now, I'm ecstatic.

Tahoe, dunes, snow, mud, here I come!

Here's some pics of it next to my other toy, the height difference is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the Sub could run over my car with ease.

cool! looks exactly like my white 89' burb, only yours is lifted with bigger tires. Good for you.

I've been looking at a SLE around here. I'll likely put my 1ton drivetrain under it...

Your looks great, congrats.

loose the front plastic air damn..

Iget sick looking at them, you dont want me sick do you..

fatige is setig in, cant typ no moreeee too sik

ahhh

looks sweet, loose that GMC logo on the back, so your brand's don't clash :)

Do you mind me asking what you paid, and where you bought it? I haven't been out of the market long since i bought mine, and i think i may have seen that one advertised.

Nice 'burb... another clean looking Cali truck from what the pics show...

Have fun w/ those springs in the dunes ;)

hey SLO C5, i was right near you last week, i live in CT but my girl friend and i went to visit her dad that lives in nipomo for a week, you guys are lucky as hell, i couldnt stop staring at all the rust free trucks, soooo jealous. very nice burb!

nice buy man. I kinda wish my burb still had the ghetto booty. There's something to say about a set of barn doors with handles you have to reach up for to open... hahaha:wink1:

I am thinking that my next truck will be a burb! Nice truck man!

Nice Burb, even nicer Vette!

Any plans on Mods?

Thanks for the compliments.

To answer a few questions:

Yes, it's very streetable. Drives like stock, and on the highway going 65 the RPMs are right at 2K.

The ride is definitely harsh, I'm not used to anything with a huge lift(or any lift) and a SFA.

The brand clash is a little ghetto, but it's not like a Honda with Type R Acura stuff. And nothing like when you see a ricer with "Powered by Acura" stickers on his ride, then you pop the hood and the Honda H is on the valvecovers.

As far as mods go, I'm not going to do much(for now). I may do a shackle flip and ditch the 2" blocks, put aluminum trim on the dash and doors where the fake wood is, and replace the black plastic trim all around the vehicle since it's peeling.
