I lengthened the front driveshaft by inserting a piece of 1.750" DOM which is itself sleeved with a piece of 1.500" 4130.

I also did some grinding on the CV. I measured 37 degrees of angle on the modified CV

Since I now had a front driveshaft I could flex my ride out for the first time since the lift and new tires:

Now that this is finished I can get back to the diesel project :D

Hey man , we pulled my CV today finally , your right , the CV is going , the ball is intact , but is dry and the seal is non-existant , so the ball may not be the right size anymore  I also found my stops are being wore away each trip out , so a little grinding may be in order .

I like the crossmember , but you should box that part by the mounting bolts just for ****s and grins :waytogo:

yay, 'bout damn time...

looks good, are you concerned about it becoming an anchor though?

**** wheeling thats for crazy people

my only input to to put another cross member of the same shape further forward on the frame, then tie in both with a plate,

where it is now if you hit it hard it will act as a lever on your frame:crazy: add a plate for it to slide on rather then coming to a sudden stop if you hit the rec 2x4 metal.

looks real good though and like you put some time in it and reinforced the frame:waytogo::thumb:

Greg has tube frame already next to Todds house , he isn't gonna be taking no more hits in this thing , its gonna be a more of a Woodpecker and truck night rig now .

Eventually the section of frame where it is mounted will get boxed and extra reinforcement added. Right now it will keep my tranny from falling out and let me do some light wheeling. Since it isn't going to be a hardcore trail rig I'm not concerned with how low it hangs. There is still a lot of clearance there :D

As it stands, if I clock the t-case up later I will end up raising this crossmember, so it may get pulled, cut apart, and redone in the future:dunno:
