I found my old truck for sale, need some opinions on rust, pics inside!!!!

Take it from me, cab swap time! I started getting rust in the windshield frame and A pillar on my original cab. I fought it and fought it until the firewall turned to swiss cheese and the cab mounts collapsed. Save yourself the headache and swap cabs. Rust down low in floors or rockers is easily cut out and replaced but rust up high is like Whack-A-Mole, you hit in one spot it's just going to show up in another.

awesome guys!!!!! thanks so much!!!!

im going back over there on sunday, and chances are i will be getting it towed home. quick question, does anybody know what the DOT height restrictions are? will it be too tall on a flatbed wrecker??? i have AAA that will bring it home to me if possible.

thanks so much guys!!!

13 foot 6" std clearance rules.

measure truck cab center at back to ground down between cab / box. then check tow truck deck hight . add the 2 and pray

I am working on a truck now that's around 20" lift on 44" tires and its 8ft 3" top of cab . so that's cutting it close to 13ft 6" if the deck of tow truck is over 5ft off ground .

even if it fit under hight make sure driver KNOWS the roads and low hanging lines / tree's

Get it on the tow truck then let the air out of the tires.

Sucks having to reinflate the tires but you should gain a foot or so worth of clearance that way.

13'6" is standard. Most flat tow trucks I have seen are around 40 inches around my stomach level. It can be towed on one but more likely need to let air out of tires to get a lil more clearance. Mine on 35s with 5 inch lift sits at 71 inches. Yours should be around 77-80 inches with full air in tires. That should put your truck right around 11-12 foot. The tow guy may not want to tow it because the tires will maybe overhang the side if the truck with that wide a tire as well. You may want to find some stockers to put on to transport it. I'd call ahead and make sure.
