got this rig in a trade, low miles, Allison tranny, 8.1 vortec, 2500hd! im curious how hard it would be to put a full CAB on it? but im just exploring options. i kinda like the cage and it was all done well, so im strongly considering starting where the original owner left off versus a new CAB

it was cut at the bases to all the pillars, and then a cage added.. otherwise unchanged.

im thinking about link suspension, and a dana 60 up front on 40"s or so.:pimp:

heres a few pics..

Im not sure what to think yet, I say put it back to stockish, however I bet a cab would be hella expensive.

Wow! That is something different all right!!! :eek1:
Pretty cool though! I'd say, SAS, beefier boatsides, skidplates, chop the wheelbase down some, tube the front end, add some 42's, and wheel the snot outta it!!! :thumb:

Or some 44s, I'm jus sayin:D

That is cool man great start

Thats different alright.

But I wouldn't rob it for parts to put in another rig. I'd do something to it. Look at it as a blank canvas and dream something wild up. Or put a cab and bed back on it. As long as it runs good, do something good with it.

Holy crap lol, that thing is nice. I think it's just a bit too nice though to just leave without any protection from the elements. Nice score! Do an SAS. Turn it into a complete prerunner if you ask me. That things nice, and definitely different. What did you trade for it? I would build a lightweight top for it.

it is very nice, in fact i should probably take some more pictures and share. i plan on a soft top and lexan windshield for the summer, but i am looking into options on what direction to take the build. i thought about pre runner also, but its 4x4 and would be a pitty not to use it as such IMO..:D

That is definitely an interesting trade. Hope you have a good heater in it.

Build a cab, mad max that thing :waytogo: Use the rollbars as your outline, flat sheet metal welded up like some kinda bomber or something. Multiple flat angles, then you can go wheelin' where you're not supposed to and they can't find you on radar.

What about building a cab and winshield frame inside the cage and tube the finders for an exo look? X2 on the wheel base and big tires:waytogo:

took the convertible HD to the dunes today..

The IFS didnt hold up more then 20 minutes under heavy use-no surprise! :woot:

this just means good things are coming to the build sooner than later! and i am ready for it!:D
