:( so I'm going to GF's house and on the way I notice smoke coming from the fender, thinking my rear main seal let go (it had been slightly dripping) I went on and parked in her road so as not to spot up the place.
When i go to leave it won't move at all! I added a qt. of ATF but still no go. Ive never seen one just quit instead of wearing out slipping and some kinda warning. Any Ideas????????
Now I wish it was in the driveway at least a bit safer :doah:

Damn just damn; Bailey

Mine leaks likes crazy.I have to fill it up every day.Did you recheck it after you put a qt in? Mine has to sit an run a few sec before it reads right.

Yea its even a little high now I think, although cold makes it harder to tell. What would just crap out like that a line? good bit of fluid on the ground. Or a front seal? would that stop it from running? Now I gotta rent :eek1: something till I get this sorted out. Crap this is going to hurt

Most likely the tranny pump in the front. Front seal probably went, and the pump got hot. That would be where I would start, but since it is a 700r4, if it is the pump you are going to want to go through it completely.

Yea that fits and what I was afraid of . Sounds like big money, more than I got right now. :eek1:

Thanks yall Bailey

Go check out this site, Transmissioncenter.net they have good knowledge of the 700r4 trannies and decent prices. Maybe just replace your front pump.

The pump sounds about right. When I first bought my truck, there was no ATF at all in the transmission. It would not go in gear, no matter where you moved the shifter. I filled it up and it started working. Since you have put more than enough fluid in, I would imagine the pump has gone out.
