I had a little OOPS this morning

It took 3 big boxes to make the carpet and the bed quit sizzling. And then I put 2 more full boxes on just for something extra. Once I started mixing the baking soda and water it really worked well. I let the residual dry over night. I haven't got to check it yet this morning but I'm on my way out to take a look. Atleast it rained last night and it's suppose to more today I just left the carpet outside in the driveway that should have flushed it pretty well. Now I'll just need to get the rest out of the truck.

Put the front wheels on some ramps (or park it on a hill) and get the garden hose!

I like that idea actually. I was gonna try and figure out how I could get the water to just run out instead of spraying it al over the inside.

Well here's what I found this morning

I think I got it in time (hopefully) I'll wash it out and maybe give it one more coat of baking soda just to find any left over acid. Then it's off to find some new insolation/padding.:doah: That was the one thing I as happy to find---there is absolutly no rust or begining of rust anywhere on the bed. And I've flooded it a few times and it sees the snow quite a bit.

So rhino line under the carpet instead of padding.

It'll protect the metal AND deaden the sound.

When I get all the upholstery re-done for good I'll probably go in that direction but for now it's not something I'm gonna worry about and really don't have the funds for right now.

Don't worry, you caught it in time. If its been neutralized, no more damage should occur than already has. Doesn't look bad, just needs a little cleaning up. Could have been alot worse.
