Started looking around got a wild hair up my butt again. Well my K5 will never be a daily driver. Right now the 700R4 is sitting on a bench at work, Ive bolted the clocking ring to the np208, Ive gotta build a belly pan. A 465/203-205 doubler would be sick with 5.38s with 39.5 irocks. With the doubler I could have a longer front driveshaft so less stress on the u-joints. I found a 14 bolt i can pick up for $150 thats 4.10/open. I can convert my front 10 bolt throw in some chromos and a lockright. I know Ima run 5.38s and 39.5s no matter what. I would spend maybe $600 rebuilding my 700r4 and beef it, and slap it in do my belly pan and im wheeling again. Ive got a 06 colorado for a daily driver. Can yall tell me your opinions?

Another option would be 465/ clocked 208. I picked up my last combo for $100 Cheap and good. I keep a spare at home. 208 is a light easy trail swap.

True, Do you think Id blow up a 465/doubler with a TBI 350 with maybe H/C/I (350hp tops). The main reason I'm thinking about going to the 465 is beef and simplicity.

No. I don't think you'd blow up the doubler. I would go with that but it's a lot more $$$. I've thought about it but too rich for me right now. I was just giving another option that works pretty good as long as you skid plate the 208.
I voted 265 doubler. It's what I want.

I'm sorry to hijack, but I have a 700R4/208 combo, and really want to go 465... Is the 208 worth keeping??

I could always just slap a 465 in and then do the doubler later, but then I'd have to build a new belly pan.

2.6X low range, I believe its a magnesum case. I think a couple companies make SYE kits for them. Ive never had any problems with mine. And my K5 sees balls to the wall treatment.

I've never seen a sye kit for a 208, for a 241 yes. If your going to run a 208/241 it should hold up fairly well as long as you aren't running a lot of power and skid plate it well.

There was a toyota pickup at last year's Real truck club challenge who was running chevy drivetrain, he cracked two np208s in one weekend!

lol nice, Its been a long while since ive researched the 208 SYE kit, but I think I found one or two companies, also a huge thread on pirate about using parts from a dodge 208
