Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Napa, but the Napas in my area are the place to go if you need knowledgeable counter people. Just have to spend a bit more money for that bennie.
Don't know how badly you needed the part but did you try any of the online parts stores? Napa, for one, has an online parts store. Might be easier than having to deal with ignorant employees.
