Hello,
Well I am getting all of the bugs worked out of my '86 Blazer. I just installed a engine and tranny.

First ?.
My speedo does not work. It is hooked up.

Second ?.
My tranny will only shift if I let of the gas but even then it takes a few seconds. My tranny is full of oil.

Third ?.
When I put the truck into drive it seems like the engines starts to race. Then I will put it in Rev and it will idle right back down like it should.

Last ?.
Will a 700r4 dip stick work with a Th350?

the answer to stick Q is a no


engine rev too high sound sliek vaccum leak, check of base of carb/the base gasket may be junk get a new one , check power brake booster line take it apart where it turns from steel line to rubber hose and plug it and see if engine speed drops down while you hold the steel line end plugged, the booster could have internal leak or the hose could be cracked or loose


tranny cable sounds liek it is being pulle dout too far too soon, disconnect it fromt he carb and then drive it

its a th350 right ?

if so then you can drive without the cable with no problem at all

all it does it kick you down a gear when you floor it to pass someone and if its being pulled too far too soon then it will delay shift for a really long time
in my world the th350 down kick cable is very optional and unneeded


disconnect speedo cable at tranny, have someone watch the speedo needle as you spin the cable as fast as you can with your fingers, the needle should jump up/move very noticeably, if it does then the problme is in the tranny

I will see about ordering a new dip stick

I did find that the power brake bosster line is bent and leacking.

I will disconnect my kick down and see where that gets me.

Hello,
Yes it is a Th350
I changed the metal brake booster line. It does not rev up any more.
I disconnected the kick down it shifts like it use to.
I am going to go with polished dip stick and tube. Hey I just put all of this money into the engine why stop here?

good point on chrome stick and tube

if thats what ya fancy then go for it

i am cheap so persinally i would go but one dollar can of silver aluminum and paint the stock one lol, thats what i did to the aluminum wheels on the 81 c-10 and it looks like chrome aluminum now lol

works great

1 dollar chrome aluminum wheels

ive had alot of good feedback around town about the wheels since i did this to them lol its funny
