i have my very own burb buildup!

i just worked on it yesterday. flushed and cleaned the radiator and replaced the upper and lower hoses. ordered the gaskets for my replacement exhaust manifolds. also bought the box of herculiner. im about to put a black stripe of it down the rocker panels. just waiting on the gaskets and some time to do it all. soon...very soon.

more updates:

i just got back from a drive in the burban and it was a blast. random midnight drive, but i found a few mud spots and blasted thru them. also found a little ravine deal so i popped in the 4x and went down into it and flexed it a little bit. the ravine wasnt very long so i didnt get much done. the base was all rocks about the size of baseballs and grapefruits. it was good break in...hadnt used the new tires offroad at all. AND...i found 2 decent looking trails that need to be explored. an adventure for another day since it was 01:30 and i was alone. going back later this week with my buddy to go check them out. and this time ill bring a camera:rolleyes:

found more trails today! was getting dark again, but it was alot of fun. got some good mud and dirt trails. gotta go back though i didnt have time to explore or take pics...eventually ill have pictures

picked up the gaskets for my new exhaust manifolds and some stuff for wiring the guages today...

has anyone ever replaced exhaust manifolds? ive done them on smaller cars that were easier to get to. these are going to be a pain i think. any tips or ideas?

Sorry, never done exhaust. But...

PICS!!! PICS!!! PICS!!!

I wanna see that thing flexin' with some mud on it.

They are very easy on a truck like yours so long you have the correct tools and the bolt holes in the heads are still good. The one hole that you think came lose my have been a bolt break off and have seen this a lot on those subs. If you need help I am up here in College Station. Never use gaskets on the manifolds metal to metal the gaskets will burn out very quickly. I use metal to metal on all my trucks never had a leak. Have fun

The gaskets between the heads is what I am talking about not the dounts between the y-pipe and manifolds. Just one more place for the gasket to burn out. I have left them off for years on my trucks and customer with no problems at all. When they come from the factory they are metal to metal on those year models. Have fun wrenching.
