I hope this never sees the road, SCARY ford

Now that I've had some time to think about it, your friend should be able to pull the stack from under the springs and still have a nice lift. fix that steering up with a coupleo'good parts, plus some 40 inchers, and that thing could kick some major hiney. explain it like that, use some of our trucks as examples, then he won't feel bad, and we can keep that deathtrap off the pavement /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif /forums/images/graemlins/weld.gif /forums/images/graemlins/weld.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grind.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grind.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grind.gif

You gotta tell him that you don't want to hurt his feeling, but you don't want him to get hurt, or killed either. Offer to help him build it right.

Good friend or just a friend you hang out w/ on occasion. You still don't want him to get hurt or hurt someone else driving that thing. I know I would want someone to tell me if I did something to my rig that may endanger my life or someone else. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!

If you can't afford to do something right you shouldn't do it at all! That is just plain idiotic /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif

that thing is mass scary i hope hes not an engineere ( note the spelling) I agree that you should offer to help hm install a lift correctly so someone dosent get killed.

His problem was only being able to locate 8" springs, oh and being brain dead. I am gonna smack some sense into him. Haven't seen him in a while, just took a swing by and laughed then freaked at what I was seeing. The sad part is, with just the 6" springs, the same lift in the back, and keeping the body lift I bet he could clear the 39.5s.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why doesn't he just do a shackle reversal and use the 6" springs he has already? Shackle reversal is about the best thing that you can do to one of those fords so the tires stop moving forward on compression, and it adds about 3" of lift IIRC.

That, combined with a shackle flip in the back and maybe a small block will give him the lift he wants without building a hack job, besides the steering which you know there are a number of ways to fix.

Shackle reversals are $500, if he spent that much on one item he'd die I suspect. Who sells F150 Shackle flips? I've seen them available but can't locate them now.

Jeeezz!! This truck should be in the "Coat hangers, and Bubble gum" catagory. The things people will come up with to save a buck. Better bolt or weld some stout ladder bars under there before that thing accordions. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/weld.gif

Good Grief!!! /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif
First- This is a waste of a dana 60 and second It would have been just as easy to do it the right way and weld on some new purches so the width was right and get rid of that god awful stack of springs. A set of 8" superlift springs only costs a couple hundred bucks!!!! These pictures are definitely being saved just in case I need a good laugh! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Let me know when he starts driving this thing on the road so I can stop driving just in case he decides to come through South Kakalaky /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

He is going to feel real bad when that thing looses one of those bad azzz leaf-lift blocks and that thing carrens of a cliff or into a school bus!!! Personally I would bitch salp him! Dont let the poor guy waste another minute on that thing.

For some, the only way to gain common sense is through experience, they wont listen and are not teachable. Maybe take him wheelin and when he breaks on the trail at low speeds he'll see for himself that its a bad idea to drive his truck setup this way at high speeds. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

There are two types of people, the ones that don't know and the ones that can't know.

Well, the Ford guy knows something, just not NEAR enough of it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Hes definetally a kind that would only learn from a mistake, hopefully I can prevent that. He doesn't want to go real wheeling with me, just play in mud pits. Not to say thats not real wheeling. He has ladder bars under the back of that thing, sadly they are the weakest little things I've ever seen. Welded together crap steel he stole from the school metal shop.

You cant change the way he is, hopefully the older he gets the wiser he will become but if he learns from mistakes you cant change that. Just try to make the mistakes count so he learns without him killing someone or getting killed himself. Maybe a good yank from a mud stuck would leave his front diff in the pit and he might then scratch his head and wonder why his custom front suspension failed!

That is some pretty impressive fabrication/engineering there, I like the stacked overload springs, good idea. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif Nice truck! /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif

bahahahahahahaha! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif
Had you going there didn't I. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

That is one okie redneck mofo. /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Psshh, it has everything you like, huge lift, small tires, no cut fenders, chrome grill and hood...

[/ QUOTE ]
Umm no. /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif The grille isn't a billet and a chrome hood? I see a red hood. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Good point about the fenders though...they don't look all gay and hacked up. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
