I bought an 87 Toyota 4runner. Completely stock, no rust, runs great. Need to replace the oil pan gasket and rear main seal and then drive the sh!t out of it.

Yoters make great wheelin rigs. And, your from hillsburrito eh? I spent the last few years of my teenage life in cornelius.

Huge fan of the 4Runner. We have a 97 with close to 200K. The most stable dependable SUV.. Period.. We live in the Mtns with snow covered roads almost 6 months of the year and with studded tires this thing gets us home..

Yeah 22re 5 speed manual. Runs down the hwy at 75-80 mph no problem. Need to fix the oil leak and get the a\c working and it will be good to go.

I had a friend with an 84 toyota truck with a nasty 22R engine it had MSD, cam, headders, webber carb and man did that thing haull ass

Anyways great engine have had good experience with them

My blazer was down for repairs this past summer so I was lucky enough to have my buddy loan me his 4Runner for a couple wheeling trips. It's pretty well built with the 22RE and solid axle(85 was the golden year 'cause yo could get both). The 4.88's, Marlin Doubler and 35's don't hurt either....not bad for a loaner :D
Definitely felt small compared to my truck.

So?

do they have cookies?:D

congrats on the runner if I fit in them I would be wheeling one right now have built several runners over the years

So it looks like a little more money to get this thing going but not much. Originally thought it was the rear main and oil pan leaking. Once I got the trans out, I found out the trans front input seal and gasket are also leaking and the clutch and fly wheel needs to be replaced. Should be under $300 for the parts.

Still alot cheaper than doing struts, brakes, suspension bushings and reseal of the motor on my daily driver 01 Saturn.
