I just picked up a 1979 k5 blazer

I like it, nice walkaround video.
Check the tailpan where the tailgate bolts on for rust issues there...its a common area for rust. How are the body supports and mounts, floorpans, etc.
Looks like a bit of TLC will make you a real nice truck.

Tail pan is good, body mounts are all good the only rust is where I showed and one spot on the floor right behind the passenger seat. I think I got a really good deal
Thanks for the comment

I think I'm going to put a six inch lift 3 inch body lift probably 33 are 35 inch tires. Convert it to part time 4x4, dual exhaust, interior leave alone, sliding back windows, rebuild motor and I'm sure there is more lol. I guess I'm going to sink alot of time and money in to it as with any k5 I get. Ill try to post pics later today, thanks for all the comments

Why so much lift? I'd skip the 3" body lift, and go with a 1" instead.

In not sure on it yet I was even playing with the idea of a 4 inch suspension and 3 inch body lift. The 4 inch suspension system rough country is around 500 at national tire and wheel

Do some looking around on here before you order any parts. How is the body? Are you against trimming?

Martin

I have 33s on 2.5" of lift and 35s might even fit.

My has no trimming. 4" will get you way over what you need.

I agree. With just 33/35" tires I wouldn't like it with that much lift. I know it's my opinion though:thumb: It sure is a nice truck and I always liked those 2 tone paint jobs. Reminds me of my Dad's 78' maroon and grey. I loved that truck.

If he does the super wide tire thing... 33"s on 8" lift don't look bad..

I forgot his name but a guy here with a grayish k5 did it not too long ago and it looked pretty cool

I'd have to see pictures to believe that. I hate big lift, small tire.

Martin

Is it just the picture, or is it rotting out over the rear wheel well?

Are you sure it has a TH400 transmission?
