Well I decided that I was going to pull up the mat on the blazer to put a peice of steel down to cover what I thought was a hole in my floor board. To be honest what I have left I wouldnt even call a floorboard. Ok now I need your guys opinions on what to do I can weld but I really cant spend a whole ton of money puttin in floor boards so what I was thinking about doing wasgettin some sheet metal and bending it and and making it fit and use that as a floorboard. Also my rocker panels are gone and I was thinking about some 3x2 square chanel or tubing (whatever) and bending up the corners and welding that in there. Opinions

You ain't be getting no 'pinions 'til I see's some pics, ya'hea :D :haha: ??!!!

Want to know how to repair floorboards on the cheap?

Go to craigslist, in the free section. Look for washers, dryers, fridges, etc that don't work anymore. Take a sawzall to them, and steal all the sheetmetal you want. When you're done with them, take the remnants to scrap. Oh yeah, I forgot one of the steps.....flex out your truck on the washing machine carcass and take some poser shots.:D Not that we've done that sort of redneck thing.:doah: You wouldn't believe the weight that a washing machine tub will support though, they're pretty tough.

without pics there is no way to see what type of repair is necessary.

if you want to fix that the easiest way possible is swap another cab onto that frame. or take whatever is good on that truck and put it on a rust free one.

Thats what I was thinking but theres not many of those around here and the only one that I found I want to go look at but the guys in jail (2 x DUI) I would like to keep the blazer but like I said there arent many 2nd Gens around here mine is the only one Ive seen

You may be able to fix that, but it won't be cheap, easy, or fast. That is some serious rust...

Just call up LMC and ask for one of everything they have...

LOL I have been doing a little thinking and have thought about the route of another cab. If I cant find a semi-rust free 2nd Gen cab I will try and find a cab off of a newer blazer and do the full top convesion it seemed pretty straitforward on the writeup. opinions

hahah you call that rust. I need to take some pics of what I have to work with...lol I'll post some pics tomorrow

I have done the full convertable swap and it's not hard when you have the windshield frame, correct hardtop and all the little knick knacks for the doors. The only thing I'd try to do if you're doing a tub swap is make sure you get a '77 or older tub. The '77 or older tub will drop right onto your frame without any issues. The '78 and newer tubs are different and you'll have to do some fabbing to get it to bolt down...

What do you mean by fabbing (drilling new holes for the mounts??) I think it would be pretty hard to find a decent shape 77 or newer cab in Michigan without having serious rot issue. As for the hard top and the door peices I have a 75 and if I was switching the cab I would just take all the parts I need off those doors and I would have the windsheild frame and hard top also anything else I needed I would think. Would all the body lines match up from a newer cab to the older fenders??
