There have been a million threads about gear ratios and such. Well anyhow i wanna figure out mine on my truck. everyone gear claculator i looked at showed how to figure out your rpms and not the gear ratio. Tryin to do this by using my rpm's and mph with 265/75 r16 tires. :dunno:

I go 70mph and i show right at 2000 rpms. first person gets a cookie ;)

right on. I'm probably gonna be going lower gears anyhow but i'd like to know where i stand as of yet. Not sure how easy the motors gonna get these tires turning to scoot me down the road :doah:

not the same truck, but same difference, mines a 2003 silverado z71, od, 265/75/16, 373s im at 2000 rpms at around 72 to 73. but at 69 to 71 its around 1900 rpms +/- . so i vote 3.73

i think 4.10s will be good with 35s

You remember what I said before but I'll repeat.

If you can find a 14SF with 4.10's or 4.56's (was supposedly an option but I've never seen it) just regear the front to match and use whichever tire you want.

35's 4.56's but 4.10's would work. 33's use 4.10's but your 3.73's could work.

www.4lo.com has what you need. You put in what you know in the gear calculator but leave one feild blank and it will give you the value of the blank feild.
