My family vehicle developed a severe coolant leak
It's a 1992 aerostar 4.0 L. V6 auto OD.
Well , after looking around I pulled the little dog house panel off on the inside , started the van and it sprayed all over the interior
There is a large leak where intake manifold contacts the head passenger side
Now I know the intake gaskets need to be changed but it is so crammed in there that it looks impossible to get at
Has anyone out there done a job like this on a van and have any tips for me:ears:
Thanks for any info.

Not on a van, but on an exploder. Wasnt to hard of a job, but we had an open engine bay to work with.

You may have to un bolt some engine mounts and rotate the engine or partially drop it down. I'd get a chiltons repair manual and see if it cover that sort of repair in the vehicle. Just a guess and I don't know Fords or Minivans for that matter.

I used to work for Ford. 4.0's are known for cracking heads between the valve seats as well and causing coolant (usage). Good luck.
