Ive rebuilt my front axle like 3 times. Twice while it was under the chevy, plus the disassembley and reassemble for the locker and now again since its going in my trooper.

This time around I have some resources at work so I decided to media blast all my knuckles, spindles, etc and paint it up real nice.

Well today after blasting my spindle I learned theres a roller bearing in the end of the spindle! I never f'ing new that, and I thought I knew these axles like the back of my hand.

I guess I just never had any reason to pay attention to that until now. Wonder if they sell new ones now that the bearing is packed with sand lol.

You really didn't know about those inner bearings?
The shafts ride on them, and yes you will find replacements, just ask for the spindle inner bearing.

I said the same thing once, when a front wheel bearing seized on the way to work...and I got a new one and said. Huh, Wtf is this. :dunno:

So now I make sure I lube them everytime I service my wheel bearings and also do the same on customers trucks.

Doesn't someone make a plastic on or something that works better than that bearing in there?

The earlier spindles aren't machined as deep as the later ones even with the big bearings

Pay attention much there buddy.

These can break when you break an axle, they suck to get out normally but they really suck when they are all exploded

Ill definitely be picking them up if I can eliminate the washer on the stub shaft.

Im not sure how Ive missed them. And now that I know they are there I 100% understand the necessity for them BUT I just never realized it before lol
