I broke four 208s tried with and without the rod,three of them the house cracked in two parts and one went bad inside I didn´t even open it and checked what was wrong.
A couple of months ago I went cast iron 205 behind my 400 =bad ratio but will hold up fine.
Two weeks ago I got a crack in the 400 just behind the oilpan
So now I´ll go with all cast iron and I don´t think I will need the doubler.
This saturday I´m going to buy a 79 Blazer with 305 465
205 in it .
Haven´t decided if my axles and the engine from the m1008 will go into the Blazer or if the 465 will go into the m1008.
