After seeing a thread like this on most of the other automotive sites i am on, i figured we could see what the brothers around here have made/modified/fabricated for use on their '67 - '72 Trucks.

Here is the rear tire- jerry can carrier the PO made for my '71:

I removed the rear tire carrier from the back of the truck, and it is for sale. If anyone is close enough to Nassau county, long island, you can take it for $75. The two red jerry cans come with it too. It is too bulky for me to ship it.

not bad. I'll have to think about mine. I've done a lot of stuff, but most things I don't think I'd publicly want to admit that it was my craftsmanship.

I'll look it over and see if I can remember anything good enough to take credit for. :D

yeah, lets see how other guys solved their dilemmas on their 69-72 with some DIY stuff,

Custom Front Crossmember

Hi Guys,

I needed to fix a crack in the frame and to do so had to remove the original Cross member. Thanks to the PO welding things up I had to cut it out...

I am also adding a Swaybar from a Gen2 so I figured I would make my own XMember to give a little more strength and a nice place to mount the sway bar.

The bottom plate is about 6 Inches and bolts to the frame with 3 Grade 8 Bolts on both sides. The top is about 1.5 inches and bolts to the frame in the same spot the original member did.

Nice work, :waytogo: what gauge steel did you use for the piece?

I know this thread is old but it's still a good place to make this product known and available to anyone wanting to add a softopper without the headaches of drilling holes in places that make a ne cringe .there is a link on 67-72 chevytrucks and FB "softop installation no holes" IMG_1126.JPGIMG_1127.JPG

Sun visors.:rotfl:

Stock ones hit my roll cage so I cut them up (and found the inner cardboard with mold growing on it) and used the metal portions to make a waterprooof one out of black plexiglass and a few rivets.

They are so shiny they even kinda make an auxillary rear view mirror.
