I made my own soft top for 35 bucks!!

anyone have pics of a home made softtop? I just rolled around town today without doors and it was soo much fun!, I'm almost done sanding the entire cab and bed of the truck, going to spray down some rustoleum or rhino it, but i'm trying to brainstorm ideas of getting the top off in the next month. It will usually only be me taking it on and off, i've brainstormed some ideas of a pallet for the top and a wooden ramp comming down from the tailgate and just sliding it down but i like the tarp and bungee idea, or getting a top and cutting it up and putting snaps in it.. something.. lets see some home-brew pics!! :pimp:

wow man.... BTTT!
anyone know where to get heavy clear plastic, like a jeep soft door window??
thanks

Here some pics of my old top back when the blazer was stock and had desert camo. Used a home depot heavy duty tarp and button snaps. around $75

That's sweet. One of these days I would like to do something similar.

I also like your sliders.

no probs running doorless. Some places do require a lip, but not many cops are going to look for that. I had two pieces of aluminum angle laying around, I drilled 3 holes in them and attached them where the factory sill plates go. Presto... a 'lip'. Doors are highly over rated.

Tonnaeu material and plastic glass material came be bought through nearly any good auto apolstry shop in the USA. Both are sold at wholesale on large spool, plastic glass is generally on a 4 ft. wide roll and Tonnaeu material generally on a 8 ft. roll. Nearly all shops stock the canvas material that is used for tonnaeu covers. Many shops stock the plastic glass in bulk as well but there are also shops that only have the plastic in certain sizes or only order it on a need based occasion, for instance a convertible come in and they order the rear window, precut for that particular car. Good luck, go see a large shop in your area, they shoudl be able to help you out. Tonnaeu stuff is pretty cheap, plastic for windows is generally fairly expensize per yard, but still cheap than a pre-fabed unit. Good luck guys.
