"My" 1990 GMC 1500 is in my wifes name. She gave it to me years ago when I bought her a car and made the payments. The Jimmy has 155,704 miles and all numbers matching. Owned by Her Dad, her, and myself since 10/7/89. He got it with 33 miles, probably his test drive knowing him.

I'm retired due to disabilities, yes, more than one.

We had words the other evening and she told me not to go overboard on the truck because it was still in her name and due to my disabilities and the drugs that I take, 30 mg. of Oxycontin 3x a day, 10/325 hydrocodone for "break through pain" as necessary and 7 others, not all pain pills, some muscle relaxers and others.

I'm now driving the Impala that I got for her, it's still in her name, and I have my '95 Chevy 1500 P/U 2W/D with 290,000+ miles (no ticks, knocks, smoke, does leak a LITTLE oil), good tires, etc. I'd drive it cross country right now.

Other than very minor dings in parking lots, no wrecks. No tickets in 15 or more years.

I'm going to wait until I get the little things done and it's road ready, if she doesn't say anything else. It was running when it was parked about 8 or 9 years ago.

If I wind up having to sell it, what is it worth? Except for a hit in the center front that took the bumper, radiator, A/C condenser and hood. NO frame work, fenders, etc.

When I get it running again, it would be what I would call 95%. No salt, a very minor amount of surface rust on underside.

There's a list of all of the info from the window sticker that a member was nice enough to run for me and a pic that's on here somewhere that was put on by another nice member.

Think about it and I'm going to try to find the location of the list from window sticker and pic on this site.

Honestly, there's almost no way to say. A late 80's to 91 K5 here on the gulf coast, straight with minimal rust, goes for $3000+ in good running condition. There's no real way to value yours until it's fixed (if that's how you intend to sell it). If you want a current guess of the value as is, post pics, an option list and a description of what works / doesn't.

Thanks Nvrenough,

Thats where I went was to try to find the only pic that's been posted,it was done by Disenough and the window sticker was pulled vie VIN by ZooMad75. If I credited the wrong people please excuse me, it wasn't intentional and I really do thank all of the people that have helped me. Way too many to remember or list.

All of the answers are here in the garage.

In: "2 colors out of 1 can" entry #33 is pic. There's a larger one that I couldn't find.

In: "Need help figuring exact specs on '90 GMC Jimmy 1500" has the complete list that came up by the S/N.

There's also a few other things like the HD Extruded running boards that were put on it so short people could get in, and the stereo that was professionally installed. I still have the OEM stereo and speakers. She wanted a CD player and better speakers. I just found out that there wasn't anything wrong with the original sound system, SURPRISE!!! The radio has a 5 band equalizer and cassette from the factory that I'm yet to find in a catalog, but it's listed on the window sticker.

At this point nothing is written in stone, but I'm just looking at my options. It's going to take me a while to get it streetable due to the fact that I can't do very much at one time. If it comes to it, I'll post better info. I think everything works or atleast it did when parked.

That's as much as I can think of but when I say no rust (some surface rust under it), etc. I stand by it. If I were to sell it, I'd take pics or whatever is wanted. The one thing is I won't give it away. I've had people come by offering as little as $1000 and up to $3000. I could part it out for a lot more than that, but I don't want to. I'd rather someone that appreciates what it is to get the whole thing.

"Waiting with breath that smells like bait", "Waiting with bait breath", "No breath while waiting for bait", or something like that, Thanks everybody, Paul

I'm not sure where you are located, but they seem to be worth more in rust free condition in the Midwest than anywhere else. They're cheap out here on the west coast, but my brother in law is looking for one back home in Missouri and can't find a decent one under 6k (unrestored but clean running and driving). If you get it to that point it shouldn't be hard to sell, but hopefully you won't have to.

I think that if someone that could put 8 hr. days on it, they might have to work on it 3 days, 4 if you include time for polyester resin and paint to dry. That is unless there's something that I don't know about. As far as rust free, S.C. gets almost no snow (or salt), we have Myrtle Beach about 2 hrs. away. This truck has been there 3 times that I know of and we aren't allowed to drive on the beach. Each time it came back, there was a sprinkler under it for about an hr. or so and moved 2 or more times.

I'm really hoping that it won't come to it, Paul
