My son and I are converting a truck from carb to TBI that is manual shift. The donor is a '90 Suburban with an auto. Can I have my chip burned to what I need? Can someone here do it?

Team208motorsports(? he's on here in other posts) and I think howell both have been recommended.

TBIchips.com hasn't gotten good reviews the last few people I've hard talk about their work.

If it's not a bone stock engine/installation a tune is IMO a necessity anyway. Even on a stock application I think there are gains to be had, but since you are going to need to get into it anyway, might as well reap all the rewards you can.

It is bone stock, and I just looked at my ECM and realized we have an 8747, not a 7747 so my options are limited.

What engine is the TBI going on? Whats the BCC code on the ECM, 4 letter?
@dyeager535 is correct on a chip would get it close but it would need some real hands on tuning to be totally correct. TBI is not something that's easily done remotely, however with basic logging you can get a long way with a few chips.

Stock 350 crate engine for the '90 Suburban, going into an '83 c10. I have the entire harness and cluster from the '90 Suburban and a VSS for the t-case.

So do I need to send you my current chip? I just found your website, I'll give you a call tomorrow if that's ok.

I'm still needing a chip if anyone has or can burn me an AKWH chip for an 8747 computer.

Do you have the AKWH .bin? Do you have a chip holder so you can pop the replacement in if someone burns it for you?

Being bone stock, I don't see why I wouldn't be able to do so onto a chip, you'd just have to be able to mount it to the ECM.

Moates.net is my source, or had been, haven't needed anything for years.

All I have is the stock computer with the original automatic chip. I can send you the computer if need be if it needs to be modified.

Unfortunately I don't have time to really dig into it, have you checked out moates.net?

I want to think that they offer a service to get the ECM set up for chip swapping, but it's been awhile since I looked.

Burning an SF512 chip is pretty easy, but they aren't just a plug and play for the TBI ECM as I recall.

You've been searching for original AKWH PROMs as well, with no luck?

I see the chip is out there, it should not be that tough to find someone that has the equipment to get you set up with something. IIRC UV erasing was necessary in the past, and that might have allowed for a straight swap, instead of needing to do work on the ECM or PROM carrier, whatever TBI requires.

Have you checked out Gearhead-efi? I believe one of their advertisers over there offered services like that. Probably going to be cheaper to go that route if no intent on changing anything in the future.

I did register over there and kinda got told to buy the equipment and do it myself like they did.

I can't vouch for these guys, but they were who I was thinking of: http://listings.findthecompany.com/l/34096272/Old-School-Efi-in-Vancouver-WA

Have you checked with Moates.net either? Someone was modifying the ECM's to enable PROM tuning, it may have been them. It's where I got all my tuning stuff, they were always helpful when I needed it.

AWKF is in the .bin library over at gearhead-efi, so it should not be an issue getting it into a PROM, its getting the ECM to accept the PROM. :)

Is the 8747 just a "better" version of the 7747, or is it an "E" trans controller (PCM)?

It's the 3/4 to and 1 ton version of the ECM. I can switch to a 7747, but I already have the 8747 and don't have the 7747.
