i've been running the glass packs for toooo long. there's just not enough tone to them for the amount of loud. i'm looking for a loud, yet sweet sounding muffler. a nice rumble at idle, but appocalipse sound while on the throttle.

Help

I just got a winch, it takes the fun out of things.

Get some flowmasters of summit fully welded or just some plain turbo mufflers from summit or dynomax

I'm in the process of installing some Flowtech Warlocks supposedly they're compariable to Flowmaster 40 series.
I'll give ya a report on the sound when/if I get done

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy!

Hack saw blades are pretty cheap! That'll make it rumble.

That jeep thing? Yah I understand it....... Like my Blazer? http://community.webshots.com/user/blazerk5

Dlowmaster one chambers. You cant get a louder muffler. They are louder than straigh pipe to the muffler. We just did a test on a mustang and it was alot louder with the mufflers than without. We cut them off, then had to move the car. We welded on a set of magnaflows. They are quiter, but produce alot of horsepower. Speedvision's Hotrod just did a show on them. They picked up almost 400 hp by switching to the magnaflows over the flowmasters. The flowmasters are too restrictive. Thats right I said 400 hp. It was on a first generation camaro. On nitrous with flowmaster one chambers it produced 800 hp. on motor with magnaflows it produced 800 hp. On nitrous it produced almost 1200 hp. That is why I recomend magnaflows!!!!!!

I know you don't want glasspacks, but my buddy was using glasspacks that were about 12-15 inches long in a 63 Impala and you could hear him coming blocks away. That car sounded sweet. The Gpacks were really loud because they were so short and narrow. You could also run an exhaust cut out , Y , Jc Whitney sells them.

i am running duel 14" 2 1/2" glass packs with no cats, i want louder

jimmyjack, that's cool and all, but that leaves the pipe aimed at my leaky gas tanks. that would be a hell of a noise though, my truck exploding that is.

where can i get one chambers? i've seen them in summit and jegs, for circle track applications, and only 2" inlet/outlet. is there a "series" and were the Magna flows LOUD? i want LOUD. but tone also. damn i'm picky.

Just get a Flowmaster 40 series and be done with it

BTW louder isn't always better... if you come roaring through a town at 2am ever and some bored cops hears you, you can be fined for being too loud. Doesn't matter where you live either if Mr. PoPo is got nothing else to do...

They have the one chambers in 2.5 and 3 inch. Call summit and ask them for them. They have them, but dont advertise them.

dynomax makes a racing muffler called the ultraflow bullet. Its 16.5" long and is pretty much a glass pack but louder. Car Craft did a test a while ago with different mufflers and the bullets were the loudest and make the most power.

you want loud? you want loud?

ok, heres how you get loud.....

we go out and get some flowmaster 40's, have the tailpipes goin all the way out from under your truck (im willing to bet having the exhaust dump in the middle of the truck blocks a lot of noise) but in the passenger side pipe, immediately after the muffler, we get a high temp microphone, wire it to your pa system thru your amp, and then add speakers in place of all your offroad lights. THAT would be loud.

Just keep in mind that the louder it is, the more attention it will draw from law enforcement officials.

I've found it's easier to blend into the surroundings by running in stealth mode.

Exit the exhaust right behind the mufflers w/ turn downs aimed UP. Cut 2 holes in the floor and have stacks in the cab. Itll be LOUD for a few min before you pass out. LOL!

I get all the exercise I need pushing my luck!

Just go straight pipe all the way back.

If that don't do it, just go "open headers"!!!

I agree with K30, I'm running no muffler on my '91. I was going to put on a Cherry Bomb Turbo II, but I picked up the wrong size, so I just left it open behind the cat. It's got a very nice rumble, and yells pretty good when I romp on it. At the same time it doesn't resonate in the interior bad on the highway at all. Just my .02 :)
