I'm replacing the rear floor, and I've found that one of the mounts (not the bushing but the actual frame piece where the mount attaches to is rotted out.

I have found lots of places to buy the poly bushings/mounts, but what about that frame piece? Is that going to have to be fabbed?

Thanks in advance, guys.

I suspect you're right, but the cancer up here has gotten most of this area's K's. Dagnabbit

GM may still sell the body mount brackets....if yours just rotted where the bushing sits but is still intact otherwise,a thick washer or metal plate can be welded over the rotted portion of it too...

I could be very wrong, which happens from time to time, but I have had zero luck with any OEM parts from a dealer. I agree about the plate. I think that will work...and I think it's going to have to work.

Driver's side, K5, 1987, Silverado with the 350.

I suspect you only needed the K and the year, but who knows what type of other changes exist around and about.

Also, to repeat in case I goofed up before, this is not the tailpan mount, it's the next one forward, behind the rear seat.

You guys are great, whether you can chisel one off or not. If you'll part out both of 'em, I'd take that too. I haven't lifted the passenger side floor yet, and it looks better, but you know how that goes.

I know I have a set off an 86 Burb, should be the same,I'll measure them up tomorrow and get back with you then.

No, sir. I actually need the riveted piece of metal (looks like a cupped bracket) that attaches to the frame that those mounts fit into. One is swiss cheese, only one: the fourth back (using that schematic) on the driver's side.

I haven`t got my bed off of parts truck yet, possibly this weekend. i`m not sure if the truck is the same or not.

I have access to the same general part on either a pickup or a Suburban. Is the part going to be a rough match to what I have in the same spot on my Blazer? I can't find a frame pic to see how close they are.

Thanks!

Pretty sure that's what #28 is on that LMC page. Unless you're talking about a different one.

That looks close to it, but where mine goes is the 4th spot back, the location just forward of the tailpan. If any of you can verify this, obviously, this makes my life far easier, because I'll just order that from LMC, but it looks to me like that's the first cab mount, and the shape appears different at the fourth spot back. Anyone? To me they look very different, but the expertise here far outweighs mine.

The part you need is very different from #28. I'm in the middle of doing a frame-off right now, so I've had plenty of access to see the mounts. I've actually got an extra frame & I think those brackets are in good shape on it. I'll send the one you need for the price of shipping.:waytogo:
