I am trying to find some 14" 7/16"Dia Gr5 hex bolts with 5-6" of thread. Anyone know where to get them without ordering 1000 of them?

There is a Bolt & Tool Supply here in Hickory that carry about anything........

Can ya use threaded rod? Weld and grind the head/nut?

I have a supplier in Wilmington that might have a source on something like that. I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Don, dont want to go that route yet, I may end up with that though. I dont trust allthead, and getting some hardened material is going to be $$$$.

Nut, Thanks.

what fer??...

You could most likely find long 7/16" spring center bolts at a heavy duty semi-truck supply house, but they will likely have a slotted head instead of a hex head..they are threaded most of the way down, almost to the head...at least grade 5,maybe grade 8?..

Cylinder head bolts are 7/16 on many engines, but have a shoulder under the head, and only an inch or two of threads..

What do you need such long bolts for?...it might prove difficult to find them,in small quantities anyway..not many places here will "break up" a box of "odball" sized fasteners..

They are for the body lift on my Jimmy, the old ones are grooved from being loose.

Beater, Thanks for the fastenal link, that looks like what I need.
