For my D44, stock mounting tab on the axle housing but it has an ORD giant tie rod...

1.25" or 1.5" I can't remember... but I need a kit with the mounting hardware (U-bolts I assume.) that will fit the thing. Preferably a Monroe or Moog version perhaps? Any idears? Thanks.:D

get a stabilizer and mount it like everyone does with hydro assist cylinders with tabs welded to the tie rod.

1 idearrr

go on ballistic fabs, or kerts website. they should sell these 2 piece compression clamps. Weld a tab on it and install it where ever you need it.

autozone sells a pretty affordable Gabriel stabilizer.

Good idear on the the compression clamp Mr. Shawn. If I can't find one locally that's what I'll do. Was going for a quick fix though, would like to drive it this weekend after I get the toe adjusted.

The only problem with welding one on the tie rod is I have to turn it to adjust the toe... maybe there's a way around this but I'm a rookie... :haha:

I got the same tie rod from ORD. It's BEEF! They also have a u-bolt kit to attach it. You can probably see it in my avatar.

EDIT, I guess not... here's the full size image.

If it's a new axle going in, why not see if you even need one. I've been running without one for 3 years and never found a reason to add one. I do run crossover steering though.

I was wondering about this myself... I'm building a dana 60 which has no mounting tab for a stabilizer, so I'll run without one and see how it reacts. I'll be running a crossover setup, so before I install the 2wd steering box I'll go ahead and drill/tap it for hydro assist (which I know I'll need later anyway).

:screwy:tabs welded to the tie rod.[/quote]

Huh???

Just get some u- bolts and make it yourself. This is no brain teezer.

New axle in, with new everything, and death wobble... I'm thinking it just needs adjusting but I figured a steering stabilizer wouldn't hurt. Took it to an alignment shop after trying to adjust it myself (epic fail :doah::haha:) and figured a steering stabilizer wouldn't hurt either.

have someone sit in the truck and skake and turn the steering wheel

look for some movement, do you have new ball joints? If so did you use the proper method to install them? jack up the axle and see if you can wiggle the tire from top to bottom.. also you can get movement if the bearings are not seated/torqued properly

I have one I'll send you for free if you want it,,, 5404 Rancho
I took it off my D60 when I put the hydro assist on it,,,could use a little paint....I may even have a few of kerts welding tabs I can throw in the box...

I just threw away the mounting I made for my tie rod before I did the hydro assist. Should have asked a week ago.

Now I am living in the barracks and out of my truck.....no garage. Gay

The assist is working great. I have not burned out any more PS pumps. I was going through a minimum of 1 every 2 months.

I might have one... but we'll see tomorrow... if not I might hit you up Mr. Wages.:D

Brian I tried to call you! We ate at the Shed... it was delicious, wanted to give you your wrench back...
