I need a stereo sytem

Ok here it goes. In would like a powerfull clear and hard hitting system with out going over board if possible.
This is going in a 88 k5 the top will be off most of the time
Im also real stereo dumb.
This is what I have so far.
Rockford fosgate 4 channel amp 400.4
Rockford fosgate 2 channel amp 160.2
2 Rockford fosgate 10" subs loose no box.
What kind of head unit should I get? do Im need a high quality one or base module?
What kind of speakers are good for this and good location
should I get a crossover to split the power for better sound?

I don't know about everything your asking, but I would recomend getting a good quality headunit with atleast 4. volt preamp outs. I've been very impressed with JVC lately. I'm also a fan of Clarion. You might wanta get ahold of BozoWise sence he runs a car stereo store and hooks up CK5 members.
