So i have a 1978 chevy stepside. I need a title. so would it be just as simple as finding someone who has a similar truck that isnt possible to save, and get the title from them? I dont want to deal with the DMV and would like it if i could find a smog exempt vehicle.. any one want to help?

dont they match your numbers in cali but yeah it is not really legal , and should be kept on the DL but you might get cought if the numbers dont match if they do an inspection

why not just have dmv issue a new one? i know it can take some time but....
