I wanna go to summer crawl in july in penn...its about 270 miles one way...the burb will be done and ready to go...but the tow rig wont be and i dont think im gonna be able to find one to use...so what should i do???

If you're wanting to go as a spectator then just drive the burb, if you are wanting to go to compete then i'd say i would be looking for a tow rig. Around here if you need to be towed home it isn't cheap if you have any kind of distance to go.

thats why i was thinking of getting AAA plus...they will tow 100 miles free and then its .40 cents a mile afterwords (ive been told)...i dont really wanna go if i cant wheel...

Before you go get AAA and think you're all covered you better go read the fine print. Before you can get the 100 mile tow you must have had AAA for at least a year. Also if the vehicle is not stock they won't tow it. Now i'm speaking of how it is in California maybe your state is different but i kinda doubt it.

They arent going to be towing any Suburban on 38s for free, I can tell you that...

Get a plan "B." You are not worried about getting there, just getting back, correct?

Find somebody to agree to get you back;) Whether you put a tow bar on your vehicle or somebody with a tow rig comes to get you. It could be anybody in your area that's going or somebody who isn't but will agree to take the day to save your Azzz:bow:

Offer to pay for fuel & whatever you think is appropriate for cash. Is there a board for this event you could post on?

I've never gone to one but it seems to me this type of thing has to happen at events. Good way for a local with a rig to pick up some cash just by being there and wait for the inevitable:haha:

If you have a trailer, why not rent a tow rig? Around here there is a place called interstate truck rental, that rents 3500s. It is a division of capps truck rental. I got a 4x4 dually for 249.00 for a 3 day weekend.

CRAP! you beat me to it! my thoughts exactly! also, check with Enterprise rentals. I deal with them every day, they'll give you unlimited milage and "most" branches carry 1 ton trucks for construction companys, but don't really advertise them since they are in limited supply.

i was planning to drive mine up, but was hoping i could find a trailer just incase i do break something. however things arent looking good, and i might not be able to make it this year unless i can get some more money fast:mad:

why are all of the fun hobbies expensive?:doah: :haha:

You know your truck best, but I'd just drive it. I don't hesitate to drive mine 300miles+ to Blazer Bash. :dunno:
